Books2Go

Bringing the joy of reading to Baltimore's children.

The Books2Go program brings the magic of reading directly to young children in Baltimore City schools, providing free books and early literacy experiences that help lay the foundation for lifelong learning. Through this free outreach service, children in local elementary classrooms and Head Start Centers are introduced to best read-aloud practices, helping both students and teachers foster important language and comprehension skills.

Books2Go not only cultivates a love for reading but also provides low-income children with their very own books, empowering them to build personal libraries at home. Each visit is designed to create joyful, engaging learning experiences while extending classroom learning with activities that align with the Voluntary State Curriculum.
